Massage Routines and Therapies
There are many different forms of massage therapy and each one can address a different situation or problem.  When working with your horse I will adjust my treatment and form of therapy during the session to best help your horse.  Some of the different forms of therapy I will use include but not limited to;
          *Sports Massage
          *Deep Tissue
          *Stress Point Therapy
          *Myofascial Therapy
          *Swedish Massage
          *Pre and Post Event

When each massage routine is combined together in a permanent, long term program the design is to help your horse achieve balance and prevent injury.

Full Body Sports Massage/Muscle Therapy Session
A maintance and preventative routine is to help keep your horse in prime condition.  During this session your horse will be evaluated for areas of muscle tension, spasm, or "active" points that require release.  Massage benefits are mainly cumulative and you will get the best results when done on a regular routine.  The frequency of sessions depends on what your horses' lifestyle is like.

*For the average equine athlete or senior equine should be performed monthly.

*For equine athlete's in serious competition should be performed bimonthly.

*For the equine with a lighter work load should be every other month.

*Horses on stall rest, rehabilitation, or with chronic conditions will be accessed on a case by case basis.

Session length will vary depending on horse and what is found during the preliminary evaluation.  On average a session will last from 1 hour to 1.5 hours.

Pre and Post Event Massage Therapy Session
Pre event massages helps to loosen and warm the muscles before an event so your equine partner is ready to perform at their peak performance.  This session will last around 20-30 minutes and is best done before your  warm-up.

Post event massage helps to relieve muscle pain and stiffness by allowing the muscles to return to their normal state.  It also allows the body to remove lactic acid to prevent muscle tension and soreness from developing.  This session is normally around 20 minutes and should be done after a thorough cool down.

**NOTE** It is not advisable to work on a horse for the first time at an event.  Horses are all different in how they
will react to massage so it is best not to learn how your horse will react before heading into the show ring.

Available and willing to make trips beyond the areas that I have listed, please contact if interested in having me come visit your area!

Educational Lectures and Presentations
I am also available to come talk to your local pony clubs, 4-H groups, riding clubs, or organizations.
During my career as a Veterinary Technician I have been called on to do a couple of lectures or presentations.  I found it very fulfilling to be able to pass along the knowledge that I have to others.

I can tailor the exact topic to what you want for your group or organization.  Location may also play a role in what I am able to do during my time with you.  If done in a barn setting I can bring a "demo" horse, or use one that you provide if possible, that will help illustrate my points and make things a bit more fun.

If wanted I can also write an article for newsletters, websites, or magazines.  Again the exact topic to focus on is up to what your needs are at that time.

Feel free to contact me at my email or call me directly.
